I understand that we’re all on lockdown right now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still be motivated and stay busy during this crucial period. Don’t get me wrong, I have been a little lazy and a bit all over the place during this time, but there are a lot of ways and techniques that I use to stay creative and have the urge to still keep going.
- Use this time to really organize and declutter everything
The first thing that really helped me get on the flow is to use all this extra time to really clean out everything you have. For me, that was my: closet, my whole apartment, bathroom, and kitchen cabinets, laptop, and iPhone. I cleaned out all of my photos, apps, subscriptions, and laptop desktop/folders. I also organized my apps as well as my albums and photos all into their desired places. I was very messy with my photos and albums a week ago and this really helped me clear my mind, start fresh and overall be motivated to do more next.
- Plan and write out what you want to do next
I’ve been using this time to really plan out what I want to do next with my work and life goals. Sometimes having a pause on life can really make you look at the bigger picture and realize things you didn’t when you were in action. Even though we don’t know how long this will last, I still wrote out some goals that I want to accomplish in the next few months.
- Watching other people's quarantine gets me motivated
During social distancing, we don’t have much human interaction with others so watching your friends or celebrities stories could really help you out. One thing I started doing was watching other people’s lives, quarantine vlogs, and insta stories as well. This one may sound weird, but as soon as I saw someone's productive day on their stories, it made me want to get out of bed and do some things to stay productive as well.
- Catch up on movies/shows
Even though you should work and stay productive, catching up on some of your shows and movies you’ve been wanting to watch forever is a great idea. This can make time fly by and you could get inspiration and creativity just by watching a new movie.
- Cook & bake
Find a fun recipe to make and just simply start cooking/baking! I’ve already cooked a lot of dinners, bread, and cake and learned so many new things in the past few weeks. You may just find your new favorite hobby!
- Workout videos
Last but not least - don’t forget to work out! Watch some home workout videos on YouTube and start moving your body. My favorite ones are the 80s and 90s workouts, they’re just so fun and the aesthetic of it makes me excited to work out.
Comment the stuff that gets you motivated and things to do to stay busy while staying home!

3 weeks into quarantine, and its honestly not that bad! Coming from an extrovert. I think everyone should appreciate this time and use it gratefully to reflect on ourselves, relax and definitely focus on personal growth. Lets be positive, stay safe everyonee🙋🏼♀️
