What’s Coming Next at Cry Baby

What’s Coming Next at Cry Baby

I’ve been keeping a lot to myself lately, and I think it’s time I start letting you guys in a little more. There are so many things I’ve been quietly working on, some for over a year, and we’re finally getting close to sharing them.

This actually goes back to what I wrote about perfectionism. I used to be much better about sharing things while I was creating them and letting you guys grow with me. Somewhere along the way, I started feeling like everything had to be completely finished before anyone could see it. I don’t want to do that anymore.

Our Sports Line Is Almost Here

• I’ve been working on a sports collection for over a year, from fabrics and fits to finding the right manufacturers. Some of you might remember Cry Baby Sport (CB Sport), our original Cry Baby Sport line. I released a few pieces a few years ago and eventually put it on pause because I knew it wasn’t quite where I wanted it to be.

It Needed Its Own Story

• For the longest time, I thought it would simply live under the Cry Baby name. I made tags, samples, and entire ideas around it, but something always felt missing. Cry Baby to me is feminine, soft, and romantic. It’s our dresses, summer pieces, coats, little nightgowns, beautiful ready-to-wear pieces, and everything that makes Cry Baby feel like Cry Baby. Simply putting just Cry Baby onto athletic clothes started to feel like I was taking the easy way out instead of building an actual world around it.

So I Gave It a New Name

• It’s still completely part of Cry Baby, but now it has its own identity and story. I’m not sharing the name quite yet, but after all the samples, fabrics, fits, and changes, we are finally almost there.

I Wanted Sportswear I Would Actually Wear

• I love Pilates and my long walks, and I try to get my 10K steps in at least three times a week. I’m usually working out in cotton leggings and pants with a baby tee, or oversized T-shirt and shorts. I wanted to make really good quality sportswear that still feels feminine, flattering, and like something I would genuinely want to put on every day.

The collection is really designed for leisure and everyday movement, whether you’re going on a walk, heading to Pilates, ballet or yoga, or just running errands and want to feel comfortable and put together.

There’s Another Little Secret Coming First

• In the next few weeks, we’re releasing something completely different that I’ve been working on all year. It lives somewhere between home and beauty, with a little nod to nostalgia. We’ve always loved making unexpected little things alongside our clothes, like our teddy plates, and this feels like another piece of that world. I’m keeping the rest a secret for just a tiny bit longer.

There is so much more coming, especially as we head into next year and everything I’ve been planning for spring and summer starts coming to life. This year has been about building a stronger foundation behind Cry Baby while continuing to make the clothes and little worlds I’ve always wanted to make.

And I think I’m ready to stop keeping all of it so secret. I want to bring you guys into the process again, show you what I’m working on before it’s perfect, and let you watch these new parts of Cry Baby grow with me.
