The Importance of SPF & Tanning Alternatives

The Importance of SPF & Tanning Alternatives

Though many may believe sunscreen is only needed for the occasional pool and beach days in the scorching summer, the truth is that sunscreen should be essential to your daily skincare routine - all year long. You should wear SPF whenever you go outside. Yes, even on cloudy days and quick trips out. Not only will it protect you from the very visible (and short term) sunburn, but it will prevent long term effects of wrinkling, premature aging, and other forms of skin damage, including skin cancer. Another tip is to remember to put SPF on your neck, chest, and the back of your hands. This will guarantee protection all over, allowing your skin to stay youthful and glowing, longer! Clarinsusa.com states, “The earth has a natural shield, too: the ozone layer, which protects the planet from most of the sun’s ultraviolet rays. However, the ozone layer is not as thick as it once was, meaning we have less natural protection from UVA and UVB rays. In fact, using sunscreen is more important today than it ever was before.” If that doesn’t convince you to be better about wearing sunscreen and implementing SPF products into your skincare and makeup routine, I don’t know what will!

Coming from a ginger who is prone to sunburning easily, yes ma’am! Pro tip, if you do sunburn… yes we all know aloe, but vinegar works great too. I’ll soak paper towels and blot or leave them on my skin to soak. And then I smell like vinegar 🤤 (and as other people are posting yes, nutrogena is a great sunscreen to prevent sunburn in the first place 👌🏼)

Yess!!! wearing SPF is so important! It frustrates me when people say they don’t need SPF on a cloudy day, the cloud can’t protect us from the Sun’s UV Rays. Thanks for informing/ reminding everyone.

SPF is very important. I keep telling my friends and family that they should wear SPF no matter what everyday and that is should be 30 and up. They don’t listen to me though. 😩😭
