Little Ways to Feel Happy Every Day

Let’s face it: it’s hard to be happy all the time. And honestly, it’s pretty unrealistic. Feeling sad or angry can be healthy! But it’s nice to find little happy moments throughout your day, and it can lead to a more positive life overall. Here are a few of our tips on how to find those little happy moments every day. 

  1. Spend some time outside. Feeling a fresh breeze on your skin is bound to stretch a smile across your face. Taking time in the sunshine is a natural mood booster. It also does wonders for your hair and skin!
  2. Smile at yourself in the mirror. Sometimes you have to create your own happiness! Smiling at yourself and affirming the beauty of your smile creates a sense of internal joy. 
  3. Listen to music that makes you feel good. Throw out the breakup tunes for a moment and listen to something with a bouncy beat. 
  4. Eat something sweet! Treating your sweet tooth every once in a while is a necessity, and it teaches your body that it’s okay to enjoy the tastier parts of life. 
  5. Take some time to feel grounded. Light meditation or mindfulness instills a sense of calm in your body that lays the perfect groundwork for a carefree day, no matter what your schedule throws your way. 
  6. Savor the good. It’s important to see the good in every situation, but we challenge you to actually savor those moments, too. Taking some time to feel gratitude for the positive things that come your way will lift your spirits. 
  7. Get active. Exercise is an effective treatment for negative energy. Sometimes you need to sweat it out! Your body will thank you later on. 
  8. Spend time with your pets! Everyone loves cuddling with a furry friend. And if you don’t have any pets, find your local animal shelter! They are always looking for volunteers, and giving love to an animal in need will feed your soul, too. 
  9. Help someone. When you’re having a bad day, making someone else happy tends to rebound. 
  10. Treat yourself. You can treat yourself to anything! It could be a spa night, devoted to a candle-lit bath and your favorite essential oils, or a pizza night watching your favorite movie with friends. Whatever it is, tailor it to include some things that make you feel cherished.
