Restless nights are the worst. When all you want to do is sleep but something is disrupting the peace, it can be frustrating and lead to a grumpy morning. We did a little digging to find out some tricks that can help you fall asleep faster.
- Find a sound that soothes you
There are many apps that cater to getting a good night’s sleep. Spotify has playlists made that caters to soothing sounds for sleeping, too. You can also try the Calm app, where they have different meditations and songs for sleeping.
- Get a weighted blanket
Weighted blankets can be very comforting to those who are kept awake with anxiety and deep thoughts. They feel like a nice hug, relaxing your body and allowing it to calm down.
- Try melatonin
Melatonin doesn’t always work for everyone, but if you’re really struggling with falling asleep each night, it’s definitely worth a try. Melatonin helps your body to manage sleep cycles and have a deeper sleep at night.
- Get blackout shades
Blackout curtains for your windows will help keep your room nice and dark for a solid night’s rest. Sunlight easily wakes me up and my blackout curtains have helped me to stay asleep so well.
- Use a diffuser with calming essential oils
I love putting on my diffuser at night with a clean peppermint essential oil in it. Not only does it smell incredible, but it clears my head and helps me to fall asleep easier. Lavender is also a great choice. Find an essential oil that you respond to and give it a try.
- Focus on your breathing
My mom always suggests square breathing to fall asleep faster. What is square breathing? Picture a square and notice its four sides. To square breathe, inhale for four seconds, hold for four seconds, exhale for four seconds, rest for four seconds, repeat. Its pattern is much like a square! Because it’s a nice and steady pattern, it can help calm your body down and better prepare it for rest.

The past few nights it’s been so hard for me to fall asleep so I toss and turn all night. Melatonin might be the perfect solution. This was perfect timing 🥰
Melatonin chocolates are amazing, I have had trouble going to sleep lately and those always help! I love your blog posts sm they are so helpful!🤍
Definitely needed this because my sleeping schedule has been SO bad lately i’ve not been able to fall asleep earlier than 3 am every night 😭. Been wanting to get a weighted blanket this is my reminder!!! This post was meant for me so thank you for the tips!
Thank you for this blog post! I think I’m going to order a weighted blanket as I’ve heard a lot about these recently.

I’ve been taking melatonin and I’ve tried focusing on breathing which doesn’t help much. I haven’t been able to fall asleep at all lately so I’ll definitely be trying a few other things and investing in a weighted blanket 😭
